Miracle on Canal Street

Improving lives of children in southeastern Wisconsin

Together, we raised $1,035,789 this year for 30 children’s charities!

With the help of our loyal guests and bingo players, Potawatomi Hotel & Casino donated $1,035,789 to 30 local children’s charities through its Miracle on Canal Street program on Friday, December 12, 2014. This marks the second straight year the program has surpassed the $1 million mark.

Since it began in 1994, Miracle on Canal Street has contributed more than $14.6 million to hundreds of local children’s charities. Each year funds are generated through Miracle bingo games and other events.

This year, 30 eligible charities will be selected to be part of Miracle on Canal Street. To apply for the chance to be chosen as a 2015 Miracle on Canal Street charity, go through the application process thoroughly. Please complete each step to ensure all components are submitted with your application. Your completed application must be postmarked by Friday, June 12, 2015.

Step 1:

View the Submission Guidelines to determine if your charity is eligible for Miracle on Canal Street (includes eligible organizations, ineligible organizations, additional qualifiers and restrictions).

Step 2:

Download the applicationsave it to your computer and fill it out completely by typing directly into the document. Ensure all fields are completed, as missing or incorrect information could lead to ineligibility. Hand-written applications will not be accepted. Print the application once completed.

Step 3:

Attach the following required forms to your application:

  • Copy of the IRS Federal Tax Exemption Determination Letter
  • Copy of the most recent IRS Form 990
  • Completed W-9 Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification Form (included with the application)
  • Most recent audit and management letter

Bingo—The majority of the funds for Miracle are generated through a special bingo game. Guests purchased the $3 Miracle game from August 1 through December 11, 2014—half of the funds went to the Miracle fund and the remaining half went into the bingo awards prize pool.

Many organizations are part of making Miracle happen for charities in our community. We appreciate their support and extra efforts to help make Miracle on Canal Street a success.
