Betting
Off-Track Betting offers virtually all of the wagering opportunities you would have at the actual track. Below are examples of betting options, just to get you started.
Win, Place, Show
These are the “straight bets”; WIN means you’re wagering on a first place finish; PLACE means you bet that your runner will appear first or second; SHOW means you’re hoping for a top three finish.
Pick 3 and Pick 6
This bet requires you to predict the winners of three or six consecutive races. These are, obviously, very challenging to pick, and “carry-over pools” get quite high when no one has been successful for a while!
Daily Double
Pick the winner of the first and second race and you win. Your bet must be in prior to the start of the first race.
Quiniela
You win if you pick two runners that finish first and second, in either order, in any single race.
Perfecta
A step up from the Quiniela; now the two runners must finish in exact order. If your bet is “$5 Perfecta, 5-6,” horse or greyhound 5 must come in first with runner 6 in second.
Superfecta
It says “super,” so you know it’s a big one to win. A straight superfecta is played by picking the first four horses to finish in exact order—not easy, but an enormous payoff for winners.
