POTAWATOMI BINGO CASINO GIVES $50,000 TO HELP COMBAT PROBLEM GAMBLING IN WISCONSIN

MILWAUKEE (March 2, 2009) – To coincide with National Problem Gambling Awareness Week, Potawatomi Bingo Casino has given $50,000 to the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling, a non-profit organization creating public awareness about problem gambling in Wisconsin and providing services to those who may need help.

Potawatomi Bingo Casino is the largest private sponsor of the organization and has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to the organization over the years. This year’s sponsorship will help support a 24-hour Problem Gambling Helpline and specialized training for treatment providers.

“We’re very thankful for Potawatomi Bingo Casino’s support,” said WCPG Executive Director Rose Gruber. “Their sponsorship goes a long way in helping compulsive gamblers in the state of Wisconsin.”

In addition to their partnership with the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling, Potawatomi Bingo Casino demonstrates an ongoing commitment to aiding problem and compulsive gamblers with on-site resources including a self-restriction program and informational brochures.

“The number one social priority of Potawatomi Bingo Casino is responsible gambling,” said Casino General Manager Mike Goodrich. “We are committed to helping raise awareness of the risks involved and offering resources to help.”

National Problem Gambling Awareness Week runs March 1 – 7 and is a program of the National Council on Problem Gambling. The grassroots effort focuses on generating awareness of problem gambling. Potawatomi Bingo Casino is a member of the NCPG and is supporting National Problem Gambling Awareness Week through communications efforts both to team members and the community.
