POTAWATOMI BINGO CASINO’S MIRACLE ON CANAL STREET NOW ACCEPTING CHARITY APPLICATIONS

MILWAUKEE (June 4, 2009) – Potawatomi Bingo Casino is now accepting entries from local non-profits for the 2009 Miracle on Canal Street program – the Casino’s signature community program. The application can be found at www.paysbig.com/miracle and must be received by June 30.

Miracle on Canal Street’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children in southeastern Wisconsin. Through funds raised from special bingo games and the generosity of Potawatomi Bingo Casino guests, the program focuses the joy of holiday giving onto those who are the hope for the future.

Since its inception in 1994, Miracle on Canal Street has contributed more than $8.5 million to nearly 300 non-profits. In 2008, 17 charities shared a record-setting $1,097,761. This year 20 children’s charities will share in the funds.

“Nurturing future generations is a core value of the Forest County Potawatomi Community,” said Mike Goodrich, General Manger. “Miracle on Canal Street enables us to give the gift of a promising future to those most in need.”

New this year, Potawatomi Bingo Casino has expanded the number of counties eligible to include Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Sheboygan and Walworth in addition to Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Racine, Washington and Waukesha.

To be eligible, an organization must have 501(c)(3) status, serve a primary client base of children younger than 18 and be located within the defined counties. A complete list of submission guidelines is available at www.paysbig.com/miracle.
