The Ides of March featuring Jim Peterik

The Ides Of March are the longest-existing, top-10 charting band in the world. “Vehicle” was an instant hit back in 1970 and became Warner Bros. fastest-selling single of all time. Other hit songs by the Ides include “L.A. Goodbye” and “You Wouldn’t Listen”, all penned by GRAMMY-winning front man, Jim Peterik. Peterik, a former member of Survivor, made his name as a songwriter with Sammy Hagar, The Beach Boys and 38 Special, but never left The Ides behind as they’ve continued their success over the last five and a half decades.

With over 11,000 live performances, their music appeals to all generations, as they play to all ages and sold-out crowds across the country. In addition to playing Ides shows, the bandmates also participate in Jim Peterik’s World Stage and touring their PBS special featuring the hit bands of Chicago from the golden 60s, Cornerstones of Rock.

The band’s latest release, the 55th anniversary album, Play On, is a musical journey of The Ides’ friendship over the last half-century, and impresses with the iconic sound that fans know and love. “Play On is the culmination of all that we’ve learned and all that we’ve dreamed in The Ides of March’s 55-year history as a band,” said Peterik. “With every mile we’ve traveled together, and the countless shows we’ve played, we’ve found the secrets that make our sound unique, and have tried to distill those elements into every track—the horns, the harmonies, and the songs of a band that is really a family on wheels—and music is our vehicle.”

Mindi Abair & The Boneshakers

One of the most recognized and sought-after saxophonists, two-time GRAMMY nominee Mindi Abair has been electrifying audiences with her dynamic live performances and sax prowess since her debut album in 1999. No one since Junior Walker has brought saxophone and vocals in one package to the forefront of modern music. In 2014, Mindi received her first GRAMMY nomination in the Best Pop Instrumental Album category, followed by a 2015 GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for her solo LP Wild Heart featuring the late Gregg Allman, Joe Perry, Trombone Shorty, Booker T. Jones, Keb’ Mo’, and Max Weinberg.

You might know her as the featured saxophonist on American Idol, sitting in with Paul Shaffer on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, or as the first solo saxophonist touring with Aerosmith since 1973. She has garnered twelve number-one radio hits in the jazz and blues world, two number-one spots on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Album Chart and two number-three spots on the Billboard Blues Album Chart. In 2018, Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers won eight Independent Blues Awards including Artist of the Year and Best Blues Song fan award for the Independent Music Awards for “Pretty Good For A Girl” featuring Joe Bonamassa. In 2019, Mindi was nominated by the Blues Music Awards as the Best Instrumentalist: Horn and won the LA Critics Award for Best Holiday Album for All I Got For Christmas Is The Blues.

4/23/2020 8:00pm | The Ides of March featuring Jim Peterik / Mindi Abair & The Boneshakers | Original Date: April 23, 2020; Rescheduled Date: October 1, 2020
10/1/2020 8:00pm | The Ides of March featuring Jim Peterik / Mindi Abair & The Boneshakers | Original Date: April 23, 2020; Rescheduled Date: October 1, 2020

Gin Blossoms' blockbuster 1992 album New Miserable Experience spawned four Top 40 hit singles, and established the Arizona quintet as one of the top rock groups of that decade. More than 25 years have passed since the release of New Mis, and now Gin Blossoms are back with their best set of songs in years. Produced by Don Dixon and engineered by Mitch Easter, Mixed Reality (set for release June 15) demonstrates that the timeless appeal of Gin Blossoms' music has endured.

In 1989 Gin Blossoms released its debut album, Dusted, on a small Tucson-based independent label. The album included two Doug Hopkins-penned songs, “Found Out About You” and “Hey Jealousy.” In 1990 the group signed a contract with A&M Records. Before recording a full-length, the band cut a five-song EP for the label; Up and Crumbling featured songs that had been in the group's set for some time, and included Robin Wilson's “Allison Road.”

Ten months later, Gin Blossoms' major-label debut album, New Miserable Experience was released. Initial response to the album was muted, despite the strong material. For a while, it looked as if New Miserable Experience would be a commercial flop. But nearly a year after the album's release, the third single—a new recording of “Hey Jealousy”—started receiving airplay. Eventually NME would produce six singles and would go on to earn 4x Platinum status (more than four million units sold).

By the time of New Miserable Experience's commercial breakthrough, original guitarist Doug Hopkins was gone from the group; his problems with alcohol had become so serious that the band had little choice but to dismiss him. Guitarist Scotty Johnson would replace him. “We were terrified,” recalls Wilson. “Could we do it without Doug?”

Having four songwriters would be part of what kept Gin Blossoms afloat. While three and half years would pass before a follow-up to NME appeared, Congratulations I'm Sorry showed that Gin Blossoms had lost none of its collective ability to turn out finely-wrought, catchy and lyrically compelling songs, including the hit, “Follow You Down.”

Congratulations would go Platinum, reaching #10 on the U.S. album charts and “Follow You Down” made the Top 10. The song, “Till I Hear it From You” was a hit as well; and a third single from the album, “As Long as it Matters,” earned a GRAMMY nomination.

In 1997, weary from nearly nonstop touring, Gin Blossoms went on extended hiatus. “We weren't all getting along at the time,” Wilson admits. He, Valenzuela, Johnson, Leen and Rhodes each pursued outside projects. By 2001 the group had reunited; the older and wiser Gin Blossoms released Major Lodge Victory in 2006, and No Chocolate Cake landed on shelves in 2010. “We came back together,” Wilson says, “and became stronger than ever.”

By 2012, the band's lineup included drummer Scott Hessell. In 2017, Gin Blossoms decided to take a look back, celebrating the 25-year anniversary of the landmark New Miserable Experience. Time has been very kind to the band's back catalog; unlike many other records of its era, NME managed the unique feat of capturing the zeitgeist of the early 1990s while remaining timeless.

Audiences packed venues on the NME anniversary tour, often remarking that the show felt and sounded like a greatest-hits collection. Which, in a sense, was completely accurate. Also in 2017, Gin Blossoms were inducted into the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame. That honor is another sign that the group's music has earned classic status. “We're descendants of the Byrds, the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and Cheap Trick,” says Wilson. “All of that is classic rock, and that’s who we are, too.”

Meanwhile, Gin Blossoms began work on their first new album in almost eight years. Mixed Reality shares the same timeless feel as New Miserable Experience; it's packed with 15 songs, with Wilson, Leen, Johnson and Valenzuela all contributing material. And once again, the mix of songwriters results in something that has that unmistakable Gin Blossoms sound.

“We’re at the point now where we play better, we communicate better, we get along more,” says Wilson. “We’re more grateful. It’s a very full-circle thing for us to be releasing Mixed Reality.” Built around the proven strategy of using the band's deep songwriting bench, and packed with memorable songs that connect with listeners while transcending a specific time period, Mixed Reality may turn out to be as timeless as Gin Blossoms' major label debut.

4/22/2020 8:00pm | Gin Blossoms | Original Date: April 22, 2020; Rescheduled Date: October 18, 2020
10/18/2020 8:00pm | Gin Blossoms | Original Date: April 22, 2020; Rescheduled Date: October 18, 2020

Not long after Jim Breuer did his first official standup gig, industry folks began asking him, “What’s your point of view?” “I don’t know…” He searched for a meaningful response to a ridiculous question. “To make people laugh?”

The freewheeling, New York-bred comic storyteller—who made the list of Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Standups of All Time”—is hotter than ever; a global touring sensation and regular presence on radio and television whose rabid audience, he’s thrilled to note, is filled with “lifetimers.” Once folks see him live, they’re hooked.

Breuer estimates that 78% of his fans have seen him “five, six, seven” times. It’s becoming a family thing, with parents even bringing young teens to see the family man and father of three daughters, all providing genius “dad” material for his sets. Having evolved both personally and professionally since the beginning, Breuer’s pleased to say he’s been F-word free for ten years and counting.

Breuer came to national attention during his seasons on Saturday Night Live (1995-98), an era featuring cast mates Will Ferrell, David Spade and Norm McDonald. But don’t call him “Goat Boy” (one of his characters on SNL) or ask him to do his Joe Pesci impression. Those things are eons ago. Some even still associate him with Half Baked , a stoner comedy flick from around that time that starred Dave Chappelle and featured cameos by Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and Tommy Chong.

The fans who got into Breuer in the new millennium were drawn in through his Comedy Central specials such as Hardcore and Let’s Clear The Air (one of the highest rated comedy specials in the network’s history). Popularly known as his “coming out party” as a dad, Let’s Clear the Air focused on the fun and foibles of family life. His next special And Laughter For All (2013), became the highest rated original comedy special on EPIX to date, earning it’s spot as a family favorite for its relatable and multi-generational humor. His latest special Comic Frenzy (2015) is currently available on Amazon Prime.

Many of Breuer’s newer fans know him from his guest appearances on Sirius XM’s The Howard Stern Show. Says Breuer, “Howard’s audiences know comedy…. If they come and I’m not funny, they’re not coming back.” That’s never happened and never going to. Breuer was also the host of Fridays with Jim Breuer Sirius XM, originally known as “Breuer Unleashed.” He currently hosts a podcast called The Jim Breuer Podcast, which is available on iTunes and JimBreuer.com.

Breuer has been something of a multimedia sensation, currently appearing alongside Kevin James on CBS’ Kevin Can Wait as well as feature films Zookeeper, Dick, Titan A.E. andBeer League; hosting MTV's popular Beach House and VH1’s Web Junk 20; and being featured on Comedy Jam, This Is Not Happening, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and The Marriage Ref.

Since 2015, he’s shared his dual passions for comedy and baseball (particularly his New York Mets) with thousands on Facebook via his video recaps of games. Their viral impact has been massive, with clips airing on the MLB Network and ESPN Sportscenter among others, and even inspiring Mets fans in other cities to hang with Breuer to root their team on. A die-hard metalhead, Breuer made his musical debut, Songs From The Garage in 2016. Produced by Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, Volbeat) the album features tracks such as "Raising Teenage Girls," the throwback anthem "Old School" and “Mr. Rock n’ Roll” with the one and only Brian Johnson of AC/DC.

All Breuer aficionados know that family is everything to him and his mission is to share the highs and lows, find the humor in the day-to-day, laughing with the triumphs and tragedies, and using comedy as a tool to conquer fear. Says Breuer, “I’m here to say that life isn’t that horrendous. Can you still eat? Can you still watch your 60” plasma TV? Call me when you have to eat a squirrel for breakfast, okay? Do something you can control that’s good, because you can’t fight hate with more hate. Let’s concentrate on the most important things in life.”

Playing the band’s entire debut album—along with all their hits!

FireHouse has been rockin’ for over a decade. Their music has taken them all over the world and has produced gold, platinum and multi-platinum records in the United States and abroad.

In 1990, their first album, FireHouse, was released. The band’s first single, “Shake & Tumble," had impressive radio success. The band then released their first top-ten-hit, “Don’t Treat Me Bad,” followed by “Love of a Lifetime,” which also entered the top-ten; reaching the #3 spot on the United States charts. This string of hits vaulted their first album to double-platinum status in the United States; also going gold in Canada, Japan and Singapore. At the 1991 American Music Awards, Firehouse found themselves accepting the award for Best New Hard Rock/Metal Band, chosen over Nirvana and Alice in Chains.

The band’s second album, Hold Your Fire, produced the hits “Reach for the Sky” and “Sleeping with You.” Another Top Ten hit, “When I Look into Your Eyes,” peaked on the United States charts at #5. This album earned the band two more gold albums and over 1 million sales worldwide.

In 1995, Firehouse released their third album on Epic, simply titled 3. Once again, Firehouse produced another U.S. top-forty hit with “I Live My Life For You.” With this album, Firehouse made their promotional tour of Southeast Asia. Earlier American hits like Don’t Treat Me Bad, Love of a Lifetime and When I Look into Your Eyes had climbed the charts in Asia, alongside the second single from 3, “Here for You.”

The band’s fourth album, Good Acoustics, quickly went gold in Malaysia, Thailand, and Philippines. Good Acoustics contains unplugged versions of the group’s greatest hits, as well as four new songs. This album produced foreign hits such as “In Your Perfect World,” “Love Don’t Care” and “You Are My Religion.” Then, in 1997, Firehouse embarked on their first concert tour of Southeast Asia playing sold-out shows for fans; including an unprecedented twenty-five city sold-out tour of Indonesia.

Nineteen ninety-eight saw Firehouse touring the United States on the Rock Never Stops tour, along with Slaughter, Warrant, Quiet Riot and LA Guns. October of 1998 featured the Asian release of Firehouse’s fifth CD, Category 5 on Pony Canyon Records. The album quickly climbed to #4 on the Japanese charts, and supporting promotional tour of Japan followed. Category 5 was officially released in the United States in 1999.

Firehouse continued touring through the winter and spring of 1999, including three more sold-out shows in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. On April 22, 1999, the band recorded their live show in Osaka. The result—the first-ever live album by Firehouse. Bring ‘em Out Live was released in Japan in December 1999 and in the United States on Spitfire Records in July 2000.

The turn of the century brought the release their seventh album, titled O2. It has been released in South East Asia on Pony Canyon Records, and in the US on Spitfire Records. This album had notable success despite the changing style of popular rock music. During this time, the band decided to part ways with original bass player, Perry Richardson. O2’s remarkable bass playing was supplied by Bruce Waibel. Bruce brought to the band his phenomenal bass playing along with is equally impressive sense of humor. We truly regret to say that in September 2003, Bruce has passed away. He will be greatly missed as a friend and talented musician.

FireHouse headed back into the studio in early 2003 to write and record their eighth album, PRIME TIME.

As music changes over time, FireHouse continues to evolve their musical style; yet, at the same time, hang onto their hard rock roots. Album number eight is no exception. Expect to hear what FireHouse is famous for...soulful, melodic hard rock.

5/15/2020 8:00pm | Firehouse | Original Date: May 15, 2020; Rescheduled Date: January 8, 2021
1/8/2021 8:00pm | Firehouse | Original Date: May 15, 2020; Rescheduled Date: January 8, 2021

Getting around the endless debates about instrumentation and eras in country music, the five members of Home Free are all about what has always, inarguably been at the core of country music: the human voice.

That Home Free is country music’s only real a cappella group is a novelty that, on-the-radio or on-record, might have a way of tricking the ear. In concert, of course, it’s a different story. All-at-once, from first row to last; audience’s jaws drop at the first listen of all those voices in action, followed by nodding, dancing (even crying) as the Home Free’s powerful musical storytelling unfolds.

Home Free are returning with their fourth studio album, Dive Bar Saints, and that most critical element remains intact. Listening to the leadoff track, “Remember This,” you might wonder if they’ve finally just given in and added instrumentation to their previously all-vocal catalog. Not to worry; that’s just an illusion. “We're completely a cappella. At all times,” Tim Foust assures us, laughing that the question still comes up. Foust is the bass player of the group… the bass voice player, that is. When asked if they might ever consider giving Nashville’s finest studio musicians some employment, “Never say never,” he says, “but that's what sets us apart. I mean, when we collaborated with Charlie Daniels, we let him play his fiddle, but that's about it.”

Dive Bar Saints is their first album since they took full control of their recording career. Home Free had been on a major label ever since finding national fame winning NBC’s “The Sing-Off” a cappella competition show in 2013, after more than a decade on the road. On Dive Bar Saints, ten of the twelve tracks are newly penned songs—the greatest amount of original material they’ve ever included on an album—with two band members stepping up in a big way as featured co-writers.

To some of Home Free’s fans, making an album of almost exclusively new tunes, might be seen as a shift away from what the fans have come to know and love—the only country group in the world that delivers joltingly fresh, new all-vocal arrangements of well-known songs from in and out of the genre. The group asked the fans if they’d mind an album of predominantly unheard songs, and those devotees made their own voices heard: The “covers” part isn’t what we care about most — don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Between the one-of-a-kind nature of the group, their established global appeal, and the types of theaters they usually play, Home Free are not exactly what you would call a “bar band.” On this Dive Bar Saints World Tour, the group will be playing about a hundred shows in sixteen nations, triumphantly returning to the UK for the fourth time and for the first time, hitting other European countries like Italy and Switzerland. The U.S. leg of the tour will be capped off by a special two-night stand at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium. All to say: very few actual honky-tonks are on the itinerary.

Founding member, Adam Rupp, provides the group’s percussion sounds and beatboxing, which makes for some of the most show-stopping live moments, but also some of the subtlest undercurrents. Other members shifted slightly through years of touring, leading to the current lineup, most of whom went on “The Sing-Off” and subsequently signed with Sony for a string of four albums that all debuted in the country top 10. “The Midwesterners are definitely outnumbered by the Southerners now,” says Foust. “So there's a lot more ‘might could’ being said in the group....That's an expression we have in the South that I didn’t realize was unique until I started working with people that weren’t from the South.”

Points out Lundquist, whose surname may be a giveaway that he is not one of the Southerners, “Tim Foust joining the group in 2012 was a game-changer for Home Free, big time. When he actually made that switch and he became a full-time member, we exploded after that. He’s a big reason why we are where we are today.” Without taking that much credit, Foust acknowledges that he “shared more country with the group, and that led to us covering some Josh Turner, which was fitting for my deeper voice.” Austin Brown, who’s also a Southern guy, joined in 2013. Then Adam Chance, the group’s baritone and newest addition, joined in 2016.

Says Brown about Dive Bar Saints, “We’re so excited about this record, not just because we’ve got ten original songs on it...but because there’s such a dynamic range. There are faster party songs and slower, more intimate songs.”

Zoso – The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience formed in 1995 to perform the most accurate and captivating Led Zeppelin live show since the real thing.

For Zoso, it’s much more than just being a tribute. It’s about touching a golden era in music. Zoso embodies Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones in their spirit, tightly wound talent and authenticity. Each band member has been carefully selected to portray both the appearance and playing styles of their Led Zeppelin counterparts. In eighteen successful years of touring, they have perfected their art. As one of the longest-tenured Zeppelin tributes, Zoso’s 2,400 live shows around the world, including a slot at Bonnaroo in 2003, have established them as the most traveled and successful band in the market.

Zoso’s live shows are not about simply playing the right notes, they are about aura and feeling, harkening back to the unique atmosphere Led Zeppelin created. It’s in the way they play—each band member’s mastery of authentic vintage instruments coupled with spot-on vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, their compelling stage persona and distinct Led Zeppelin sound, with astounding visual imagery, recreates the music, magic, and mystery of a Zeppelin concert. The impact is so powerful that band members constantly hear from young rockers that they were the catalyst behind turning them into new, diehard Zeppelin fans.

Their passion, musical ability, showmanship and precise attention to detail earned them critical acclaim, name recognition and a loyal national following. The Los Angeles Times hailed the group as being "head and shoulders above all other Zeppelin tributes," and the Chicago Sun Times declared Zoso is "the closest to the original of any tribute."

If you missed Led Zeppelin live in the ’70s or are looking to relive the "Hammer of the Gods" phenomenon, you must experience what the St. Petersburg Times calls "the most exacting of the Zeppelin tribute bands in existence."

3/20/2020 8:00pm | ZOSO | Original Date: March 20, 2020; Rescheduled Date: April 16, 2021
4/16/2021 8:00pm | ZOSO | Original Date: March 20, 2020; Rescheduled Date: April 16, 2021

Ambrosia, the band known and loved by a multitude of fans since the 1970s, is now more alive and compelling than ever. This five-time, GRAMMY-nominated ensemble is exploring new musical territory and bringing an exceptional musical performance to stages everywhere.

In 1970, four young musicians from the South Bay of Los Angeles, came together to create a new, moving and invigorating style of music. Joseph Puerta, Christopher North, David Pack, and Burleigh Drummond produced a sound that was immediately recognized. Today, Ambrosia is three of the original members with the addition of guitarist Doug Jackson, contributing keyboardist Mary Harris and powerful lead vocalist/acoustic guitarist Ken Stacey.

Originally labeled as America’s answer to the progressive invasion of English acts Yes and King Crimson, the group quickly proved itself with a unique blend of aural landscapes. Their musical styles attracted the collaboration with cultural icons Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Alan Parsons, Bruce Hornsby, Michael McDonald, Edgar Winter, Dave Mason, Gary Wright, Al Stewart and others. Ambrosia had toured extensively with Fleetwood Mac, Heart, and the Doobie Brothers.

During Ambrosia’s early recording history they garnered five GRAMMY nominations, received frequent radio airplay, along with the admiration and respect of the musical community—in addition to their sold-out concerts around the world. Between 1975 and 1980, Ambrosia achieved five top-40 hit singles on Warner Bros. Records, including “How Much I Feel” and “Biggest Part of Me.”

In 2015 the group released a new single, “Hopes and Dreams,” which was featured on the FOX series, The Sparrows. As of 2017, the new Ambrosia material keeps coming. Always exploring the possibilities of progressive, classical, and world influences—with tangled roots of soul, rhythm, and blues—Ambrosia is continuing to entertain their original fans while still engaging newer audiences.

Bringing a breathtaking performance of their classic hits as well as new moving music, Ambrosia puts on a perfect show.

“That’s how you do it!”

–Jimmy Fallon (accolades from Jimmy himself after performance on the Jimmy Fallon Show)

“With a solid set list and captivating performance, it’s evident that Ambrosia still has a lot in the proverbial rock tank.”

–Steven Neff (Music Enthusiast Magazine)

“Ambrosia is one of my favorite bands. These guys are just wonderful to see live and hear their beautiful music. True and absolutely professional musicians. That’s why I keep going to see them every year.”

Original Performance Date: April 24, 2020

Rescheduled Performance Date: May 07, 2021

The Manhattans are one of those classic R&B vocal groups who manage to achieve incredible career longevity by adapting their style to fit changing times. Formed in the '60s as a doo wop-influenced R&B quintet, the Manhattans reinvented themselves as sweet smooth soul balladeers during the '70s. In doing so, they somehow overcame the death of lead singer George Smith, and with new frontman Gerald Alston, became more popular than they'd ever been, landing an across-the-board number-one hit in 1976 with "Kiss and Say Goodbye."

Under the leadership of Winfred "Blue" Lovett (who also composed some of the group's biggest hits), the Manhattans survived as a viable chart act well into the '80s, over two decades after their formation.

The Manhattans scored their first hit in early 1965 with "I Wanna Be (Your Everything)," a number-twelve R&B hit that established their way with a ballad right from the beginning. It was the first of eight singles for Carnival, a string that continued up through 1967. None were huge hits, but nearly all of them reached the Top 30 on the R&B charts, and are still prized by collectors of vocal-group soul for their aching harmonies, Smith's intense leads, and lack of concession to mainstream pop audiences. In 1969, the Manhattans signed on with DeLuxe and issued several singles over the course of 1970. Unfortunately, Smith fell ill that year, and the group hired Phil Terrell as a temporary fill-in. Sadly, Smith passed away in 1971; he was replaced on lead vocals by Gerald Alston, who brought a smoother, more pop-friendly sound to the group.

That quality soon became apparent when the Lovett-penned "One Life to Live" zoomed into the R&B Top Five in late 1972, giving the Manhattans their first major hit. The following year, they left DeLuxe for Columbia, where their debut single, "There's No Me Without You" (written by Sonny Bivins), equaled the R&B chart peak of "One Life to Live" by reaching number three. Initially working with producer Bobby Martin, the Manhattans' records now fell into line with the sweet, string-laden sound of contemporary '70s soul.

In 1974, The Manhattans hit the R&B Top Ten again with "Don't Take Your Love" and in 1975 with "Hurt," but their biggest success was still to come. In early 1975, the Manhattans had recorded a Blue Lovett composition called "Kiss and Say Goodbye," which was released as a single almost a full year later. It became the second platinum single in history (after Johnnie Taylor's "Disco Lady") and their first number-one hit—not just on the R&B charts, but the pop side as well—a remarkable feat, considering that they'd never had a single peak higher than number 37 on that survey.

While it proved difficult to match the crossover success of "Kiss and Say Goodbye," the Manhattans reeled off a string of Top Ten R&B hits: ("I Kinda Miss You," "It Feels So Good to Be Loved So Bad," "We Never Danced to a Love Song," and "Am I Losing You") that lasted into early 1978 and made them staples on the newly emerging quiet storm radio format. Their momentum slowed over the next couple of years, but they came back strong in 1980 with "Shining Star"—not a cover of the Earth, Wind & Fire hit, but a co-write by their new producer Leo Graham. "Shining Star" reached the Top Five on both the pop and R&B charts, went gold, and won a GRAMMY. Overall, not a bad haul.

The Manhattans' last major hit came with 1983's "Crazy," which put them in the R&B Top Five for the final time; they bade farewell to the Top 40 in 1985 with a cover of Sam Cooke's "You Send Me." That year Richard Taylor left the group, which carried on as a quartet for a few years; Taylor passed away in December 1987.

Gerald Alston signed with Motown as a solo artist in 1988, upon which point the group finally parted ways with Columbia and recorded an album for the small Valley Vue label before disbanding.

Alston and Lovett reunited in 1993; with new members Troy May and David Tyson, they toured regularly into the new millennium. Dwight Fields united with his cousin Gerald in 1997 to work with The Manhattans featuring Gerald Alston and Blue Lovett. After the passing of Lovett in 2014, the group keeps the legacy going as The Manhattans featuring Gerald Alston.

4/24/2020 8:00pm | The Manhattans | Original Date: April 24, 2020; Rescheduled Date: September 24, 2020
05/07/2021 8:00pm | The Manhattans | Original Date: April 24, 2020; Rescheduled Date: May 07, 2021
http://www.ticketmaster.com/Potawatomi-CasinoNorthern-Lights-TheaterExpo-Center-tickets-Milwaukee/venue/57586#focus_event_table

Urban jazz saxophonist Boney James brings his newest album to The Northern Lights Theater inside Potawatomi Hotel & Casino.

The Boney James performance has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

Four-time GRAMMY nominee and multi-platinum Saxophonist Boney James released his newest album Solid on April 17, 2020. Solid is Boney's seventeenth album and the follow-up to his smash 2017 release Honestly, his eleventh #1 Billboard Contemporary Jazz Album.

One of the most successful instrumental artists of our time, Boney James has accumulated four RIAA Gold records with career sales topping three million units. James continues to defy genres as a two-time NAACP Award nominee, a Soul Train Award winner and one of the Top 3 Billboard Contemporary Jazz Artists of the Decade.

All eleven tracks on Solid were produced and written or co-written by James. The first Adult Urban single “Be Here” was co-produced by Boney’s longtime collaborator Jairus “J -Mo" Mozee (Anderson Paak, Nicki Minaj, Anthony Hamilton). “Be Here” features vocals and lyrics by R&B star Kenny Lattimore, best known for his Top 10 R&B hit “For You.”

Boney explains, “The word ‘Solid’ means a number of different things. There’s a solid musical groove and relationships can be solid—someone that stays by your side and never folds no matter what. That really resonates. Similar to Honestly, this music is a reaction to how stressful the world feels these days. Music is a respite, and this new music really connects on that level for me.”
