2011 Miracle on Canal Street Charities Announced

MILWAUKEE – Potawatomi Bingo Casino is celebrating a legacy of Miracles with the announcement of the Casino’s 2011 Miracle on Canal Street program participants Wednesday morning.

With many eager local charity representatives on hand, the Casino held a random drawing yesterday to select organizations for Miracle on Canal Street – its annual signature community program. Funded primarily by its Miracle bingo game – sold during every bingo session in the Casino’s Nest of Life Bingo Hall – the program has raised more than $10.5 million for nearly 350 local children’s charities since its inception in 1994.

“The excitement and energy at the charity drawing has kicked off the 2011 Miracle program on a high note,” said Melanie Martin, Bingo Director at Potawatomi Bingo Casino. “It is truly incredible that we are celebrating our 18th year of providing Miracles to children in our community.”

Thirty charities will benefit from Miracle on Canal Street funding. In addition to the 20 charities chosen at random today, 10 signature charities were chosen prior to the event by the Casino’s Miracle media partners.
