Casino Celebrates Black History Month

Potawatomi Bingo Casino is proud of its diverse workforce. More than 50 percent of its team members are people of color.

In February, the Casino is celebrating its diversity by observing Black History Month. This year’s theme, “Journey Through Black History,” was chosen by a committee of team members whose goal is to promote knowledge of Black history in America, to create a better understanding of the contributions of African Americans and their connections to other cultures and to celebrate and acknowledge Black culture worldwide.

To kick off Black History Month, an open house was held where team members sampled food representing African American heritage, watched a video on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and viewed an exhibit featuring African American inventors.

Throughout the month, team members will have the opportunity to try Southern, Caribbean and African dishes in the employee dining room and participate in various educational activities.
