Legendary Texas Troubadours Alejandro Escovedo, Joe Ely Set to Rock Potawatomi's Northern Lights Theater

MILWAUKEE – Potawatomi Hotel & Casino’s Northern Lights Theater is pleased to announce “An Evening with Alejandro Escovedo and Joe Ely,” set for 8 p.m. Aug. 22. Concert-goers can expect a high-octane show that will span several music genres including rock, honky-tonk, blues and Americana.

After starting his musical career in a California punk rock band, Escovedo moved back to Texas and found his true musical voice with the release of his first solo album “Gravity” in 1992. For the past two decades, Escovedo has been hailed in the music industry as a true poet who has garnered a devoted fan base all over the world. After taking time off the road due to a near-death bout of Hepatitis C in 2003, Escovedo is finally back on tour in support of his newest release, “Big Station.”

Known by many as a true pioneer of “outlaw country,” Ely has toured the globe and shared the stage with a wide variety of performers including Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and the Clash. Ely’s career spans four decades and his most recent album, “Satisfied at Last,” was praised by critics and fans alike. With a combination of Tex-Mex rhythms, Texas blues and traditional rock and roll, Ely’s music is in a class by itself.
