MILWAUKEE – Karaoke hopefuls from around the Midwest have recently competed in local and state contests, and will soon descend upon Potawatomi Bingo Casino to sing their hearts out in the North Regional Competition sanctioned by Karaoke World Championships U.S.A., August 15 – 17.

Contestants from 11 states, including Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin will compete in the regional competition for an opportunity to represent the region in the national competition October 3-5 at the Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne, California. One male and one female winner from the national competition will represent the USA and advance to the Karaoke World Championships that will be held November 28 – December 1 in Lappeenranta, Finland.

Contestants will be judged on several elements including vocal quality, rhythm, expression, stage presence and entertainment value.
