Northern Lights Theater Shuts Down to Undergo Big Renovation

MILWAUKEE - After 10 years of providing Potawatomi Bingo Casino guests with some of the best performances in the region, the Northern Lights Theatre will undergo renovations during the late summer of 2010.

Beginning August 23, the theatre will be closed for renovation, and work is expected to last approximately five weeks.

Retaining its intimate, up-close-and-personal atmosphere, the 500-seat theatre will offer guests a number of seating configurations that provides more comfort and ensures that there is not a bad seat in the house. During this time, the theatre will be transformed into a rich and modern space, set in deep natural tones with fresh carpeting, wallpaper and décor.

The theatre draws diverse internationally-known musical and comedy acts such as Willie Nelson, Aretha Franklin, Ringo Starr, B.B. King, James Brown and Jay Leno. Guests have had the opportunity to catch rising stars such as Grammy award-winning singer-songwriters Keith Urban and Zac Brown who played the theatre just before hitting it big. The theatre is also home to A Tribute to the King, an annual Elvis Presley tribute competition with the largest grand prize of any such competition in the country.

Expected to reopen in late September, the theatre will celebrate its grand opening in October with a fantastic line-up including legendary acts Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang, Willie Nelson and Bad Company featuring Paul Rodgers.

The Northern Lights Theatre box office will remain open during renovation. Call (414) 847-7922 or for ticket availability to upcoming performances. Box office hours are Monday – Saturday: 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
