One Final Duel at Sommelier Showdown Dinner
MILWAUKEE - Certified sommeliers, and past Sommelier Showdown champions, Kim Fisher and David Harrell will return to Dream Dance Steak to pit their palates against one another during the 2010 Sommelier Showdown Dinner finale slated for Oct. 11. Fisher and Harrell were the winners in previous Showdown Dinners held earlier this year.
Award-winning Chef Jason Gorman of Dream Dance Steak has planned an exquisite meal for the event, featuring pumpkin risotto, Atlantic salmon and Australian kangaroo prepared with a unique blend of ingredients selected to exclusively for this dinner because of their difficulty to pair wines with. As part of the competition, each sommelier will pair a specially selected wine with the second, third and fourth course of the five-course meal.
Guests of the event will actively participate in a blind tasting and vote to determine the best wine pairings. Sommeliers will explain their wine selections after the meal.
"This event is the culmination of an entire year of Sommelier Showdown Dinners, and is certainly drumming up a lot of excitement with guests," Dream Dance Steak General Manager Jeff Cook said. "Guests are guaranteed an intimate evening of great company, amazing wine and exceptional cuisine."
Seating is limited. Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and costs $60 per person, gratuity not included. For more information, or to make reservations, call (414) 847-7883 or visit www.paysbig.com.
