Potawatomi Bingo Casino to Commemorate National Problem Gambling Awareness Week
MILWAUKEE - For most people, gambling is recreational, entertaining and is practiced within means. For some, however, gambling can become an issue that can lead to compulsive habits.
With that in mind, Potawatomi Bingo Casino will be spreading a message of education and guidance during National Problem Gambling Awareness Week from March 7-13. The week of activities is part of ongoing efforts at the Casino to cast a light on the issue.
"Advocating responsible gambling is Potawatomi Bingo Casino's number one social priority," said Potawatomi Bingo Casino General Manager Mike Goodrich. "We do not want people to put themselves in an unhealthy situation. Gambling should be recreational, so if it becomes a problem we need to be there to help connect our guests to resources that can help."
To commemorate National Problem Gambling Awareness Week, Potawatomi Bingo Casino will be:
- Engaging the community through a comprehensive outreach and advertising campaign which includes the Casino's responsible gambling tagline, "Make a Sure Bet - Know Your Limit";
- Engaging Casino team members through responsible gambling training programs, contests and other awareness initiatives;
- Engaging Casino guests by placing an informational table in the Casino, as well as making other responsible gambling material available throughout the Casino;
- Acting as lead sponsor of the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling conference March 18-19 in Sheboygan.
