For four decades, Tanya Tucker’s sultry voice and vivacious stage presence has helped to make her one of the most admired and respected female vocalists in country music.

Tucker’s works include some of the most groundbreaking songs in country history. Songs like “Delta Dawn,” “What’s Your Mama’s Name” and “Would You Lay With Me (In A Field Of Stone)” firmly established Tanya Tucker as an artist from whom you could always expect the unexpected—even when creating some kick-up-your-heels hits like “Texas (When I Die),” “San Antonio Stroll,” and “Here’s Some Love.”

The 1980s saw Tucker’s star continue to shine with some of the most potent material of her illustrious career, songs such as “One Love At A Time,” “Just Another Love,” and “Strong Enough To Bend.” In the ’90s she hit with songs that continued to touch her fans, like “Two Sparrows In A Hurricane,” “Soon,” and “Little Things.”

More than just a collection of hit songs, Tanya Tucker has a stage show in which she can show her vulnerable side—through heartbreaking ballads—yet also show her flirtatious and sensual side. That rich, emotional range has kept Tucker an engaging crowd favorite for many years.

The best is yet to come for this future Country Music Hall of Fame member. With a new album forthcoming, the power-house vocalist is set to remind audiences just why artists such as Miranda Lambert and Gretchen Wilson consider her to be one of their biggest influences. Tucker’s lived a life full of love and heartbreak, and bounced back no matter the odds, defining not only the word “legend,” but also “survivor.”

In 1974, Rolling Stone ran a cover story on Tanya Tucker with the headline that said “You’re Gonna Hear From Me.” Truer words have never been spoken.
