Starring Jay and The Americans / Paul Revere's Raiders
Friday, February 17 at 8 p.m.
Jay and The Americans is one of the lasting success stories in rock 'n roll history. Started by four teenage boys in a Brooklyn basement, from 1962 to 1971, this group charted an amazing twelve top-ten records.
With three original band members: founding member, Sandy “Deanne” Yaguda, original member, Howie “Kane” Kirschenbaum, and original member, Marty “Sanders” Kupersmith; plus, the addition of the third and likely the best "Jay" yet, Jay Reincke—Jay and The Americans have recreated their authentic one-of-a-kind sound.
The group’s first recording, “Tonight” (from West Side Story) was followed by their breakout hit song, “She Cried” and chart-toppers, “Only In America,” “Come A Little Bit Closer,” “Cara Mia,” and “This Magic Moment.” The group’s recording of “Some Enchanted Evening” still holds the record for most copies sold of this legendary musical masterpiece. And Jay and The Americans also have the distinct honor of recording the great Neil Diamond's first hit song, “Sunday and Me.” The group has toured with acts including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and the legendary Roy Orbison, to whom their recording of “Crying” pays tribute. In 2002, Jay and The Americans were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, placing them among the greatest vocal groups in rock 'n roll history.
Jay and The Americans’ fantastic live show features all their greatest songs and stories of the artists and writers who influenced this 1960s super group.
Paul Revere’s Raiders
It took Paul Revere years to perfect the slick, fast-paced, dynamo of a show that has entertained audiences all over the world, an act that features his hand-picked band of the best showmen in the business.
Long before Paul’s passing in 2014, he had decided to get off the road and hand over his legendary three-cornered hat to The Raiders. Today, after decades of performing, this well-oiled machine continues the tradition of Paul Revere & The Raiders.
The extremely talented foundation of the show are long-time members (for over 40 years), Doug Heath, Ron Foos and Danny Krause. Plus, rejoining the show is Paul Revere's equally amazing son, Jamie Revere. Rounding out this lineup is multi-talented singer and former 10-year member of The Lettermen, Darren Dowler. And last, but not least, the band includes powerhouse drummer, Tommy Scheckel, a member The Buckinghams for 27 years.
Together, The Raiders continue to bring you great Paul Revere & The Raiders hits that you've come to enjoy over the years, along with the showmanship that has set them apart from most other bands performing today. The music and laughs continue, and the tradition lives on
