Rick D'Elia & Carmen Vallone
Saturday, May 12 at 7 & 9 p.m.
Originally from Boston, Rick D’Elia has been a recurring sketch performer on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Rick’s keen observational humor, quick wit and and improv skills led him to the finals in the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition. People are talking about this kid. So what’s the latest buzz?
“Never heard of him.” — Film critic Jeffery Lyons
“Never heard of him.” —Rick’s father
“As long as he stays the required 500 yards away at all times, I don’t give a rat’s ass what he does!”—Rick’s ex-girlfriend
While maintaining that 500-yard limitation, Rick has appeared on other TV shows such as: Comedy Central’s Stand-up Stand-up, Comedians Unleashed, Grand Slam Comedy Jam, National Lampoon’s Funny Money and Starz/Encore’s West Coast Comedy. He has headlined clubs and corporate events all across the country as well as entertained our troops in Japan, Korea, Italy, Bahrain, and Germany.
On the side, Rick performs in the comedy duo Hits & Giggles with fellow stand-up Adam Stone. Their show combines stand-up comedy, inane banter and music that draws upon material from the 1960s, right up to present day. Picture a contemporary cross between The Smothers Brothers and Cheech & Chong (without the bong water).
Off-stage, Rick has produced, sold and briefly appeared in three standup specials for the Showtime Network: Going Native, Green Collar Comedy Slam, and The Godfathers of Comedy. In 2006 this “wicked die-hahd” Red Sox aficionado had his first book published: How to Talk to a Yankee Fan… a tongue-in-cheek look at the rivalry between the Yankees and the rest of America. His 2nd book, Bathroom Bits, a collection of the “world’s greatest jokes” is currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and his website.
Today, in addition to standup, Rick is the director, writer, and co-host of the Half Hour Happy Hour, a late night comedy show on the CW Network in northern NV & CA.
When spoken aloud, Carmen Vallone’s name resonates as majestically as trumpets blown by the highest choir of angels in the kingdom of heaven.
With his enthusiastic smile and happily twisted vision of everyday life, Carmen guides you through a night of entertainment as he talks about being from Upstate New York, living in Florida, and what life is like on the road. Never one to attack the audience, Carmen makes you feel right at home, and you’ll never be scared to sit in the front row.
In his twelve years of comedy, Carmen has been so many places and performed on so many stages, you might think he has been doing comedy for thirteen years. He has been night clubbing with Bob Saget, he drank champagne with Joan Rivers, and he went to a BBQ with Jim Carrey. You might have seen Carmen on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, CBS’s Comedy Night School, or Jamie Kennedy’s Heckler movie, but probably not.
In addition to being a hilarious standup comedian, Carmen is also the host and producer of “A Joke Off ! ! !™”. A nationally touring comedy competition, currently in development for national TV.
