Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys are "country music with a Michigan root," says bandleader Gunnar Nyblad. In other words, GGB's country rocks!
The band came together in 2009 when Nyblad went to the Michigan State University Agricultural School to learn how to run his family’s apple orchard. There he met guitarists Shane Grehan and Chris Newberg and drummer Joe Connolly, then introduced them to his high school buddy, bassist Rob Mason.
That year marked GGB's first show, opening for Justin Moore. Since then, the band has shared the stage with Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Colt Ford, Kid Rock, David Allen Coe and many more.
Last summer, SiriusXM's The Highway started playing GGB's "Standard American,” and the reaction was immediate, with over 25,000 downloads sold in the US and Canada!
