Celebrated as a seminal musician in rock ‘n’ roll history, Nancy Wilson is the famed leader of the multi-platinum rock group Heart. A master guitar player, enthralling lead singer, and genius songwriter, Nancy is considered a pioneer and symbol for females in the rock n’ roll genre. Her drive and talent helped set the stage for future generations of female rock n’ roll musicians, proving women rock just as hard as anyone else.
Throughout the band’s reign, they’ve sold more than 35 million albums and earned an induction into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. That same year, she and her sister and Heart co-founder, Ann, received a Star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
You’ve no doubt heard some of Heart’s all-time tunes, such as their first Number One hit, “These Dreams.” Other indelible songs that solidify their status in classic rock canon include “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” “Barracuda” and “Straight On.” But Nancy’s credits don’t end there.
Nancy is also a successful film composer, having developed movie scores for Cameron Crowe's films Say Anything, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky and Elizabethtown.
