Paul Gilbert, the maestro of guitar, is shredding his way across the nation with his new album Behold, Electric Guitar. A musical prodigy, Gilbert burst onto the hard rock and heavy metal scene at an early age. While still in his teens, he was teaching fresh licks to all the fresh faces in the guitar world at the Los Angeles Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT). Soon, Gilbert was shredding onstage with his now-legendary Judas Priest-meets-progressive wonder band, Racer X. The band’s Street Lethal album was a virtual showcase for Paul Gilbert’s virtuoso guitar work.
Not to be outdone conquering the metal world, Gilbert next ascended the popular music charts along with his mega-hit supergroup Mr. Big (which he co-founded). Their song “To Be with You” went to #1 in fifteen countries and is still rocking the airwaves to this day.
After Mr. Big disbanded in the late ’90s, Gilbert pursued a hugely successful solo career with over 20 albums to his credit, expanding on this already massive guitar repertoire by exploring new arrangements, sounds and genres; notably diving into the world of blues. Gilbert’s latest work, Behold, Electric Guitar takes his musical aspirations to the next level. For a face-meltingly great evening of unbelievable rock and blues guitar, you cannot miss this show.
