RITA COOLIDGE
Wednesday, February 6 at 8 p.m.
Multi-Grammy® Award winning songstress Rita Coolidge holds a seat among musical royalty. Having worked with Eric Clapton, Stephen Stills, Leon Russell, Joe Cocker and others, it’s her commanding voice that shines through on various recordings.
Possessing a contemporary country sensibility, Coolidge was linked to progressive country singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson. Together the couple won awards and celebrated successes in the genre. Also linked to Stephen Stills and later Graham Nash, Coolidge is often cited as the main reason behind the breakup of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in 1970. Despite a bevy of personal (yet public) issues, Coolidge’s voice remains one of the purest across multiple genres.
