To be an influence on the likes of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Van Halen certainly secures a place in rock ‘n’ roll history for the legendary, Vanilla Fudge.

In the summer of 1967, among the sit-ins, protests and marches, Vanilla Fudge released a remake of "You Keep Me Hangin' On” by The Supremes, scored a top ten hit and never once looked back.

Charting five other tracks on the Billboard Top 100 over the next three years, the band was responsible for a new musical style that included psychedelia, rock, soul and gospel. The members were, and are, masters of reinterpreting hit songs by other artists and their effect on the late 60s heavy metal scene was undeniable.

Vanilla Fudge’s contribution and legacy remains intact. And with its 50th anniversary approaching in 2017, "The Fudge" as its devotees refer to it, is hopeful for a nod by the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall Of Fame.

The powerhouse vocals and keyboard flourishes of virtuoso organist Mark Stein, along with the fluid guitar explosions of Vinnie Martell, anchored by arguably one of the best rhythm sections in the history of rock—consisting of legendary drummer Carmine Appice and bassist Pete Bremy (filling in for the retired, Tim Bogert)—they create a sound so unique it cannot be imitated. Spirits will jettison right back to the magical summer of 1967 that needs to be felt live to be truly appreciated.

Vanilla Fudge continues to release new music and tour, providing a taste of 1960s psychedelic glory that can be experienced right now.
