As long as music has had “genres,” bands have been blending them to create something new. WheelHouse is built like bluegrass, jams like southern rock, sings like a choir and writes songs akin to Red Dirt Country. A brotherhood of songwriting ensures a steady stream of not only new songs to record (the band has released 4 records in 3 years,) but also new directions to explore. They have shared the stage with acts such as Sturgil Simpson, Corb Lund, Adam Hood, Cody Canada, Roger Creager, Aaron Watson, Reckless Kelly, The Cadillac Three and Bob Schnieder, just to name a few.
Formed in Madison, Wisconsin in 2013, WheelHouse has been a major force in its music scene since day one. The band has won several Madison Area Music Awards, including awards for country/bluegrass song, album and 2015 Artist of the Year. They regularly tour the Midwest as well as Colorado, Tennessee and Alabama—all while maintaining a standing-room-only residency in Madison every Tuesday.
Shortly after forming, in addition to the music business, the band expanded its interests into whiskey. Their own whiskey brand, WheelHouse Whiskey is currently one of the top-selling whiskeys made in Wisconsin.
