Dream Dance Steak Names Champion in Sommelier Showdown Dinner Series

MILWAUKEE – Kim Fisher of Milwaukee was voted 2010 Sommelier Showdown champion at Potawatomi Bingo Casino’s Dream Dance Steak this week. Fisher and David Harrell, both certified sommeliers, faced off Monday night at Dream Dance Steak’s 2010 Sommelier Showdown finale dinner.

Fisher and Harrell got the chance to compete in the finale by winning the first two Showdown dinners held earlier this year.

Sixth-Annual Hunting Moon (Gi Wse Gises) Pow Wow

MILWAUKEE - Guests will experience a centuries-long Native American tradition when the sixth-annual Hunting Moon (Gi Wse Gises) Pow Wow takes place October 22-24 at Potawatomi Bingo Casino, 1721 W. Canal St., Milwaukee.

Almost 350 dancers and more than 20 drum groups from throughout the United States are expected to perform at this year’s event. Prize money to be awarded totals more than $90,000.

One Final Duel at Sommelier Showdown Dinner

MILWAUKEE - Certified sommeliers, and past Sommelier Showdown champions, Kim Fisher and David Harrell will return to Dream Dance Steak to pit their palates against one another during the 2010 Sommelier Showdown Dinner finale slated for Oct. 11. Fisher and Harrell were the winners in previous Showdown Dinners held earlier this year.

Award-winning Chef Jason Gorman of Dream Dance Steak has planned an exquisite meal for the event, featuring pumpkin risotto, Atlantic salmon and Australian kangaroo prepared with a unique blend of ingredients selected to exclusively for this dinner because of their difficulty to pair wines with. As part of the competition, each sommelier will pair a specially selected wine with the second, third and fourth course of the five-course meal.
