Heart of Canal Street

Improving lives of children in southeastern Wisconsin

Giving has always been at the heart of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. Now, that heart is in the name of our signature community program—Heart of Canal Street.

Located in the heart of Milwaukee (and in the heart of the Menomonee Valley), our charity program has contributed more than $14.6 million to hundreds of local children’s charities since it began in 1994. Each year, funds are generated through special Canal Street bingo games and other promotions.

New this year: Potawatomi has added a Charity of Choice to the Heart of Canal Street program. The first $100,000 raised will go towards a program that will address the most critical issues facing youth in our community—violence in the central city. The 2015 Charity of Choice is Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board’s pilot program, Youth Works MKE, helping to reduce the effects of gun violence in Milwaukee.
