Milwaukee native and American Motors retiree receives a second surprise gift

MILWAUKEE (Aug. 25, 2023) – Serafina “Sarah” Papia Peterson celebrated her birthday on Wednesday, Aug. 23 like she has done for years, surrounded by her family and a trip to Potawatomi Casino Hotel. But this year Sarah got an extra gift: she won a $1,000 jackpot.

Today that jackpot just doubled. Sarah was invited back to Potawatomi Casino to receive another $1,000 from CEO Dominic Ortiz. “We’ve welcomed Sarah every year for her birthday and are grateful that she and her family celebrate with us,” said Ortiz. “We were all elated when we heard about her big win and wanted to make her 106^th birthday even more special.”

“I told my niece I thought I was going to win today, but never thought I’d receive a surprise like this,” Peterson said. Oriz presented Peterson with $1,000 in cash, sweatshirt from Cream City Coffee and a specially made birthday cake celebrating her 106 years.
