Twenty Wisconsin Children’s Charities are Recipients of 2023 Heart of Canal Street $500,000 Fund

MILWAUKEE (Dec. 15, 2023) – Heart of Canal Street, Potawatomi Casino Hotel’s signature community program, awarded 20 children’s charities $25K each during the 29th annual ceremony. Over 140 local charities were in attendance after qualifying to be included in the random drawing, which took place during a private ceremony on Dec. 14, 2023.

The funds for Heart of Canal Street are raised through the Canal Street bingo game, which is available to play all year. The 20 winning charities will equally split the $500,000 funds, and will receive the official check and Heart of Canal Street trophy following the event.

“Our employees enjoy this annual event as much as the participating charities do,” said Dominic Ortiz, CEO of Potawatomi Casino Hotel Milwaukee. “We’ve given almost $21 million to hundreds of hard-working charities throughout southeastern Wisconsin, and with next year being the 30th anniversary, we plan to go big with our appreciation to these well-deserving groups.”
